be fitness and wellness center has a fully equipped Pilates studio that offers group sessions, trios, duets and private sessions. Our trainers are all highly skilled and educated in the Pilates method. We offer several different options for anyone to try in either our group studio or private studio setting.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system that uses a series of controlled movements, combining strength, endurance, and stretching to work your entire body. Pilates enhances physical, as well as mental strength and conditioning. Pilates will improve mental focus, reduce stress and foster an improved sense of well-being. Pilates is more than a random choice of a particular movement or exercise.
Pilates is the balance between strength and flexibility. It heightens body awareness, and helps prevent injury. It will help create longer, leaner muscles, therefore having less bulk and more freedom of movement. It enhances functional fitness, ease of movement, with no impact to joints.
Pilates instruction may vary slightly from one instructor to the next but the principles are consistent. Breath, concentration, center, control, precision and flow form the basis of many approaches of Pilates and are accepted as the foundation of the system.
