Paul Marren has developed his massage therapy practice through extensive training, many years’ experience, an anatomist’s knowledge of the musculoskeletal structures of the body, extraordinary palpatory (hands-on) skills, and uncanny intuition about soft-tissue pain and injury. His work is a blend of advanced orthopedic massage, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy and ki- (or chi-) based energy work which balances deep-tissue techniques with very subtle, nuanced touch and consistently brings improved performance to athletes and relief to sufferers of soft-tissue pain and injuries.
Paul began his journey into the body-mind realm over forty years ago when he began his study of traditional Shotokan karate. Later, he studied bodywork formally at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy and has followed up through the years with considerable additional training: in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy through the St. John Institute (Largo, FL); in Advanced Orthopedic Massage under the instruction of Ben Benjamin of the Muscular Therapy Institute (Cambridge, MA), and CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute (FL). He has added numerous additional skills through independent study, including massage cupping and acupressure techniques, and has spent tens of thousands of hours learning directly through hands-on interaction with his clients.
Paul believes there is a radical form of sanity that is available to us through the proper synchronization of body and mind. His work is aimed at helping clients achieve optimal physical and mental balance, and at restoring the balance, the synchronization of body and mind, that are lost to us through traumatic injury, chronic pain, poor body image, and excessive stress.
